HELP! Legacy is Coming! [Tricks of the Trade]

If you’ve had your head in a type-two-ostridge-hole than you might not have noticed what's been happening to Legacy prices. Until now Legacy has been one of the fringe formats of Magic. The perceived cost has been stopped new players from breaking into the format, but now things are changing.

When Starcity Games announced their new Open Series and Invitational, I knew that legacy staples were going to see a healthy increase in price. I've been telling my buddies and people on twitter to "get your Legacy staples, now!" It’s not too late for you to scoop up your Legacy needs before they get completely ridiculous.

The bottom line is that Legacy is becoming a premiere format in Magic. Wizards of the Coast has started to support the format with Legacy GPs and now Starcity Games is putting money on the line for good Legacy players (or lucky ones) to claim. Other tournament organizers will follow and as the demand grows so will the price. Last week Starcity Games posted these cards on their buylist, they are buying these cards at these prices!

Tarmogoyf $50
Wasteland $15
Scroll Rack $10 <-- Treasure Hunt - Speculation. You may be able to make some cash on this on.

Consider this your warning to get those legacy staples now. Prices for some staples are already spinning out of control (See: The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale- they used to be about $120.). Tarmogoyf is also getting major heat right now; this is partially due to the Extended Season, but also because of the Legacy swell. Here is a list of cards that you should be hunting down:

Dual Lands
Fetch Lands
Tarmogoyf
Force of Will
Wasteland
Mox Diamond
Tombstalker
Chain Lightning
Lion’s Eye Diamond
Umezawa's Jitte
Aether Vial
Counterbalance
Sensei’s Divining Top

Thanks for reading. Go get some Legacy!
